South Louisiana Alligator Hunts:
2½ Day trip includes meals, lodging, boats, equipment, Etc. These hunts include you being able to kill up to 5 alligators per person. Each hunter is allowed to take home the biggest gator you harvest and a 6-8' gator for meat. In addition to the alligator hunt you will go out two afternoons for a fishing trip. Target species will be redfish, trout, black drum, catfish, etc. The season is the month of September and dates book very fast. Price for this trip is $2,500 including the CITES permits. How do you hunt the gators?

Limb lines is the most productive way but our tags are private lands tags so we can: spot and stalk, use a bow, snag with a fishing rod, etc

What are the season dates?

So am I getting this right? You can kill 5, and take home 2, one of which is the biggest and another for meat? So 3 you kill will be used for commercial purposes? What about the 2 you can keep, do you keep all the meat and skin?

You read it right. Each client will get to keep his largest gator plus a meat gator.

You will get the hide and skull from the two gators you keep. Plus you will get approximately 30 lbs of quality processed meat.

The actual dates are:
Season opens the Wednesday prior to Labor Day and runs for 30 days.

what area is the hunting , im familiar with the Laffite area and what size would a person expect on this hunt? and lastly are you going to be at DSC ? thanks

WE are about 45 minute south of New Orleans.

Each person in the last 2 years (that has hunted the 2 ½ day hunt) has taken at least one over 10 feet.

I don't think I'll make Dallas this year.
