Matt GrahamIs nyala female a ewe or a cow??
Are they found naturally in East Cape??
Just learning...

KMG Hunting SafarisMatt,
Nyala male is heavy enough to be in the Bull class, but the female is too small to be considered a cow. There have been many different opinions on the topic, but Nyala has been said to be the centre line of the classification.Anyhting bigger than Nyala is Bull and Cow and anything smaller is Ram and Ewe with the Nyala itself being a Bull and Ewe.
Nyala is indigenous to South Africa, but mainly the Kwazulu Natal regions, which is the state right next to the Eastern Cape. Nyalas arrived in the Eastern Cape around 50 years ago, and is fully self-sustainable herds.

Matt GrahamThanks Marius - I just thought it sounded odd that you would call them bull and ewe at the same time.
anyhow...

LittleJoeNow I can say I learned something today. Never heard of a bull and ewe but it appears we have a winner. What an amazing animal.

KMG Hunting SafarisGentleman,
We are still sitting with too many Nyala ewes. Here is your chance to add this beautiful animal to your trophy room. Would look great by completing the pair in the man cave.
