* A $500 Permit fee is included for Spotted Hyena
* A $500 Permit fee is included for Brown Hyena
(Permit fees are paid to the Department of Nature Conservation and are not refundable if the trophy is not taken or wounded)
* A trophy fee of $2,000.00 will be refunded if a Spotted hyena is not taken or wounded.
* A trophy fee of $1,300.00 will be refunded if a Brown hyena is not taken or wounded.

https://swiftdip.co.za/importing-cites-animals/And when I was hunting in Namibia 2 weeks ago I was told specifically that brown hyena and black face impalas, which the ranch had plenty of, could not be imported into the US. They are both CITES I animals.

This is not a problem on our side, it's the stupidity of the USFWS, noting to do with the rest of the world.
