I am offering these hunts as a favor to Mr. Gordon Duncan, owner of Doma Safaris in Zimbabwe. Some of you may know Gordon, he is a cousin of Glenn Stockil at SHANGAAN HUNTERS in the Save Valley, and prior to Glenn running the operation, Gordon was handling the hunts at Senuko for the family. I am scheduled to hunt Doma with Gordon in about 4 weeks, but I have NOT yet hunted the area. I will personally be hunting elephant/buffalo. I AM NOT taking any commission on these hunts, but simply trying to help a friend get some clients as he has had two catastrophic vehicle failures in the past two weeks, thus he is trying to sell a couple hunts quickly to help finance the repairs of one and the replacement of another. Normally I DO NOT represent a hunt to clients without personal experience in the area myself, but I have known Gordon for many years, and I trust what he tells me to be accurate.
Below is direct info sent to me by Gordon regarding the area, and the hunting opportunities to be had.
Our Doma operation has been going well and we were fortunate this year to take over an adjoining area from Chifuti Safaris (the guys Boddington always hunts with). So we now have quite an extensive area, (over 200 square miles) and some very useful quotas:
- 6 Elephant (plus tuskless)
- 2 Lion
- 6 Leopard
-10 Buffalo
-10 Sable
in addition to the normal plains game species
The new area in conjunction with Doma, is the Maninga Conservancy. Doma is a 2.5 hr drive north of Harare on the way to Kariba. It is situated bordering the National Parks Doma Safari area on the Zambezi Valley escarpment. Which links up directly with the Mana Pools National Park, and Chewore & Dande hunting concession areas. The area is not teaming with huge numbers of the regular common plains game, but trophy quality of the above stuff is good. Also of note is that it is a 'Hunters Hunt' not a 'Shooters Hunt'. The area is vast, beautiful and diverse, but the terrain is rugged and the various habitat types make it quite challenging hunting, so would market this to hunters who are a bit more adventurous and in shape, and those who are all about the hunt and not just pulling the trigger a bunch of times. All that said, it is a great area with good game. We have an awesome lodge, on a lake with excellent fishing as well.

21-day 1on1 Lion/leopard/buffalo/plains game - $21,000.00 total daily rates, plus trophy fees.
21-day Trophy Elephant/leopard/2 buffalo/plains game – 2on1 guiding, clients split the quota, but each hunter gets 1 buffalo: $21,000.00 Daily rate total = $10,500.00 each, plus trophy fees.
10-day, 2on1 buffalo/plains game, each hunter gets 1 buffalo - $8,000.00 total daily rate = $4,000.00 each plus trophy fees.
12-day, 2on1 buffalo/leopard/plains game - $9,600.00 total daily rate = $4,800.00 each, plus trophy fees.
12-day trophy elephant/buffalo/plains game - $9,000.00 total daily rate, plus trophy fees.
10-day trophy elephant/plains game - $7,500.00 total daily rate, plus trophy fees.
The above listed hunts are ALL trophy hunts, not PAC.
Guys, if you have other options or a different combination of species that you would like to hunt, Gordon will be happy to consider all of them, just let me know? Obviously he's willing to split up the quotas as well, for guys that are looking to save money and do the hunts on a 2on1 basis with a buddy. Or if you want to do one of the 2on1 hunt options as a 1on1, that's fine too. Gordon will be willing to consider options and offers not listed.
