Crop Raiding Hippo on Land

ChrisTroskieCrop Raiding Hippo on Land
Hi folks,
This offer might appeal for those in search of an adrenaline charged hunt like many have not experienced before...
I have permits available for crop-raiding hippos near Malelane in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga. This is roughly a 4 hr drive East from OR Tambo Airport.
Hunting method is on foot using night sights and scanning sugar cane fields for crop raiders late at night. When we spot a big one we stalk up to it without use of artificial light and typical shooting distance is 30 - 50 yards. More often than not you'll find yourself between the hippo and water which is not for the faint-hearted... But it is indeed an adrenaline-packed adventure for those who can stand their ground... (We know where some big bulls are active at present and whoever is interested in this hunt will have a good chance on success)
Here is a picture of one we got last week. The picture is not the greatest as it was taken with my mobile phone but the bull was a dandy!
Pricing details are as follows:
Cost of package - $9,595 which includes airport pick-up + drop-off, full-board accommodations, services of trackers, skinners and camp staff and all the usual extras such as use of hunting vehicle, daily laundry etc.
Other animals available on same hunt in close vicinity on a 25,000 acre high-fenced ranch are:
Cape Buffalo - $10,000
Sable - $9,000
Other Plains Game available as per my
Pricelist Interested parties please contact me directly or via PM.

londonhunterSorry Chris
Don't mind a Stupid question
Is that fee for one bull or if we get charged more often then its pay per shoot ....
27 July 2013, 17:05
ChrisTroskieWell, the aim is not to get charged but rather to stalk up to shooting distance of an animal and kill it cleanly.
The package price includes a 7 day hunt for one hippo. If a charge does happen and it becomes necessary to shoot more than one animal that would be self defence and no additional fees will be payable (except for hospitalization or medical care of course - that will be for your own pocket
Parks Board Officials are present during the hunt so they will have first-hand info on whether additional animals were killed during a legitimate charge or not.

shakariFWIW, I did a few of very similar hunts about 25-30 years ago & for those who have the balls to handle such as scenario you'll find it one of the most thrilling experiences of your entire life!
The bastards often run straight down the beam at you!

Sorry, I did not make myself clear. Once within shooting distance we do use a light. My apologies for any confusion.

fujotupuGo to any concession that has a river or lake in the Selous and shoot them in the thickets near the water in broad daylight - best time is high noon when it is blistering hot - you just need to let your PH know what you have in mind.

SaeedNot to distract from Chris's offer, but in the Selous one gets the chance of shooting buffalo as well, and other animals too.

infinitoChris,
How long is the permit valid for? How long in advance can a hunter book such a hunt?
They usually issue them only for a month?
Cheers,
Charl

Permits are issued prior to the hunt and valid for the duration of the hunt. If you're interested in booking let me know privately so we can discuss dates.
