Russ GouldWhat does "non-exportable" mean in the context of RSA where almost all the hunting is done on private land ... is there a problem getting a CITES permit for this particular hunt? If so, why?

Limpopo Big Game SafarisIt all depends on what permit is applied for.
There are 4 different applications one can apply for.
In this case the application is under no.2
1. Sport Hunting permit including CITES Quota
2. Sport Hunting permit excluding CITES Quota 3. Culling permit permit excluding CITES Quota
4. Damage Causing Animal excluding CITES Quota.

Russ GouldI assume there is no big deal getting a type 1 permit, so again it seems strange that you would kill an elephant and not submit the right paperwork to make it exportable.
Or is the size of the ivory limited so it would not be worth the few extra bucks for the export permit?
