Leopard / Plains Game hunt Tora Conservancy Namibia

If anyone is considering a plainsgame/leopard hunt in Namibia, they should seriously look at this hunt. It is a classic African hunting safari in an exclusive true wilderness area - The 1 million acre [3522 square kilometers] Torra Conservancy in Damaraland, North West Namibia. There are many great ranches in Namibia but this conservancy is probably among the finest free range hunting areas in the country.

From Windhoek International airport it is a 6 hour drive. Traditionally, the outfitter sets up a seasonal hunting camp under big False-Ebony trees and close to a natural spring and water hole. The atmosphere is something to experience, with all meals prepared over the open fire and enjoyed under the canopy of stars. Accommodation is in safari tents, but ablution facilities are shared by the safari guests. Sufficient comfort even for wives and family groups, without distracting from the thrill of camping in a true wilderness area with various members of the Big 5 in close proximity. Damaraland has the largest free ranging population of black rhino, lots of elephant, lion and leopard.

In 2012 they have one leopard left on permit. If this is what you are interested in let me know ASAP. The cost of the hunt would be:

14 days hunting 1 x 1 @ $ 440 per day = $6,160 + 15% Vat = $7084
2 non hunting days @ $ 100 per day each = $ 200 + 15% Vat = $230 (this is for pick up and drop off day to Windhoek)
1 x Namibian hunting license @ $ 75
1 x Concession fees @ $ 450
1 x Leopard @ $ 7,000 trophy fee

TOTAL $14,839

other plains game game as per trophy fee cost.

Kevin Robertson (Doctari) author of "The Perfect Shot" and other well known books on buffalo and African hunting, has recently joined the Namibian team running this show. Regardless of what you may or may not think about his thoughts on heavy for caliber bullets. Kevin is the pefect gentleman, a straight shooter, an experienced African PH and a pleasure to be around.

Kevin also told me that he personally saw a group of Kudu bulls with everyone in the low to mid 50s and one over 60"! If anyone is interested in reading an article that Kevin wrote recently on his recee trip to Tora I can email it to them.

In addition to the above they also have hunting rights on other large farms closer to Windhoek where one can hunt other species of plains game not mentioned on the list above.
