CaracalPlains Game in Namibia - Erongo Mountains
Hello,
my last post has been deleted. Here is a repost, hopefully it stays....
I have access to a wonderful property in the Erongo Mountains.
DikDik, Mt Zebra and Klippspringer are the main attractions. They have very good Oryx as well. Kudu numbers are a bit low but there are still some nice bulls around.
It is 30000acres (no high fences) and part of a 500000acres conservancy.
7days (5 full days hunting) are $1600 (1:1)
Trophy fees (in $):

CaracalHere is a report from AR-member Gunscore on this property:
http://forums.accuratereloadin...071087222#9071087222Accomodation is typical namibian farm house type. Every hunter has his own chalet with en-suite bathroom. There is a pool too.

A PH, from RSA and I doing a drive around trip in late July and into August. He has been interested in obtaining a Mountain Zebra. Is there any possibility of a one day hunt for one, on your property? for him? what might the cost be..

CaracalHi Samir,
There are 5 bungalows for clients, so 10 beds to comfortably sleep in.
I would say 4 hunters would be the maximum, but it highly depends on what each one wants.
Observers are no problem.

JBrownThis is a great price on what I believe would be a great hunt. This is an amazing area. Looking at the price list I'm pretty sure that you could do this hunt for about $6,000 total including airfare from the US. That is a great deal for a hunt that would include some desirable animals.
If the price seems too good to be true I would keep in mind that this is pretty in-line with the prices charged to Europeans(an Caracal is based in Europe).
I did a hunt similar to this in 2001 and it was so wonderful that I went back the next year, and then again about 3 years later.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.
Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

scruffyThose trophy fees certainly seem reasonable. All in all a very good deal.

CaracalYes the fees are reasonable. There are still farms in Namibia like this, but they hunt mostly with europeans.
@Mark
Observer fees are $90 for accomodation and full board. Soft drinks and Alcohol etc. are paid extra (by cost).
40" is possible but can't be guaranteed. There are quite a few Oryx and quality is high.
