Lion hunt in Burkina Faso - one left for 2011
Folks,

The operator we work with gets two lion on permit each year, one has been sold, there is one Lion left for 2011. There are people looking at this hunt at the moment, if anyone is interested please contact me ASAP. Whoever puts down a 5,000 euro deposit first has the hunt.

Here is a link to all the details as posted before ON AR:

Prices are the same for 2011. This is a real good price on a unique hunt for wild lion. Success rate has been over 90% over the last few years. This hunt will take place in January, early February in 2011 or March (pretty hot by then).

The hunt here is strictly spot and stalk NO baiting allowed.

Prices are quoted in Euro as that is the currency they use in that part of the world. FYI - the conversion rate today is roughly 1 euro = 1.40 US dollars. PLEASE do not start a conversation on currency hedging and betting and asking me to post the price in US dollars and hijack this thread.

Thank you for looking.

Did the hunters get their lions in 2010? Pictures?
The price isn't bad.

Lion are CITES II and don't require a CITES import permit so it shouldn't be a problem but as USF&WS are a rule unto themselves so it's probably worth checking with them anyway.

As Shakari said, best to check with your importer for the latest rules and regs. Last year the outfitter only had one hunter, who got his lion. The client does not want his photo posted on the web. As you will see from the photos posted in the earlier original thread, these lions typically do not have large manes like their Southern and East African cousins. They are all big bodied, nasty brutes thoughSmiler.

Hello Ianh,

Yes this hunt is still available as of now, although a few people are looking at it seriously. We get two permits a year one of them is sold. The date you would be looking at would be mid January which is a prime time. The other option is March, which is also very good but pretty hot.

Kind Regards,
