Looking for a Boone and Crockett black bear?

I thought all of SE Alaska went to the Draw for the Non-res Non-guided Black Bear hunter.

John is a Transporter so this hunt is unguided. I did this hunt last spring and fall. Called a wolf in during the spring hunt, pic posted on his website. My friend shot a nice big black bear. I shot a nice one on the fall hunt. This is hunt will test your ability.

I'm headed out to hunt John's area in 2013. I expect to do a fair amount of fishing too!

I just returned from John's place and a fishing trip.....I caught a lot of Salmon and a treasure of Ocean fish as well.....Had a ball!

I saw black bears every day and in some cases as many as eight at a time.....very shiny coats and some were very large for a black bear.....I'm no bear expert but estimated some at well over 500 pounds.

They were along the rivers catching salmon and eating them....I'll post photos when I get recovered after a lot of travel fatigue.

The fishing in Kake isn't bad at all
