I sent Corne a PM asking if this was the same area I hunted last year, I believe, based on the description, that it is. That would make it on Mashi conservancy.
FWIW, we easily saw over thousand elephant from the boat, stalking is tough along the river, much in and out of the boat. Great big elephants slipping across the river from Botswana, you will see the same ones on both sides of the river over the course of the hunt.
We shot a 65# there, was the best we saw from all the ones seen. There was a marked increase in activity from Sept 1 to 10, definately more animals moving in/thru the area. I would not plan on going before then, based soley on that.
Saw an absolutely fantastic buff on the Bots side one day - huge hard boss, and close to/over 50". I begged him to swim across the river, but alas, he was smarter than that.
Caprivi is a special place to hunt - If I wasn't already going back there this year, I'd be on this hunt like butter on momma's biscuits.
