Postal strike in Jo-Berg?
Anyone hearing of a Postal strike in Jo-Berg that is delaying delivery of mail? My dad and I have our SAPS pre-permit paperwork enroot and one is late. Sounds like a strike in the works.
This article indicates it was resolved, but I am hearing it is still going on.

Rob
The South African Post Office is effectively a non-functional organisation that apparently needs R4 billion to become profitable again.
You will be hard pressed to find a South African that uses them for anything important.
I think they strike about twice annually......
.
That's great, I just dropped a cashier's check in the mail yesterday for my dip and pack.

Exactly the same experience for me in 2012.
About 6 weeks after we returned home, I got an envelope the from SA postal service. Inside the envelope were the documents I had sent for my firearms permit...only problem was that the documents had been partially (mostly) burned.

Sean RussellI learned, doing business in kenya and RSA to send everything DHL--pricy but it gets there.
Tracking says it is through customs at the post office awaiting delivery. It missed delivery today, and is scheduled for tomorrow. I expect more of the same tomorrow. If it is not there by Monday, I am shipping another set FedEx. Sigh.

In light of the situation, I'd hammer on your SAPS expeditor to accept all the paperwork via email. I've had my SAPS application emailed 3 times now, never needing to mail it. I'm still not sure why some want it mailed, and some do not.
