Bud MeadowsStellenbosch Restaurant in Windhoek
I've eaten five times at Joe's Beer House in Windhoek during my four previous safaris to Namibia. In looking at the Travel Advisor website, they rate the Stellenbosch restaurant as #1 of 118 Windhoek restaurants, while Joe's is rated #3. Any AR members who have eaten at Stellenbosch who care to comment?
I have coffee there almost every morning when I am in Windhoek, the Tasting Room is great for a quick lunch and the Bistro grill serves up the best steaks in Namibia plus their game is also steller.
I know Joe's is a tourist mecca and their Oryx and Kudu are good, but Stellenbosch is head and shoulders above. Plus it is right around the corner from Casa Piccolo which I believe is your favorite.
Word of advice, while the Bougain Villas is very close to Casa Piccolo, it is best to take a taxi. Things have gotten a little sporting in that area.

craneI have. Had a good/great meal there. It is probably the best in town. Excellent beef. I do miss that seafood restaurant as it was a favorite of ours.

Opus1Careful on the seafood in Namibia. All the good seafood is exported. While Kingklip is an actual fish species, pretty much anything that looks like a fish is called Kingklip in Namibia. Unless you catch it, I wouldn't eat it. That's the reason why you won't find too many seafood restaurants there - the locals know better.
