PanchoAdvice on Headphones
Flying to JBurg via emirates in a couple of months. I want to get some good headphones before then that will work on the airline. What does everybody use?

Jason PThis is an easy question to answer: BOSE!
Crystal clear and very comfortable. They are not cheap but worth every Penny.

WesheltonjMost folks use Bose, but I am a B&O person myself.

Lhook7I like Bose, but if you are flying Emirates business class, they provide noise cancelling headphones.

SaeedI have been using BOSE noise cancelling headphones for years.
My current one can be used on the airline, as well as with BT on my iPad.
Absolutely great headphones, and very comfortable to wear for long periods.

DLSBose. They’re excellent and very comfortable.

Jason PAs good as the sound is, like the last two posters put, they are comfortable. My kids bought all kinds of headphones when they were in high school and the Beat Headphones were all the rage. I tried theirs to compare and it was not even close for comfort.
That comfort helps that miserable flight.....

SaeedMy advice is to go to a shop and try their fit.
I liked the new Sony, but they did not fit me as well as the Bose!
The most horrible ones are the Beats!
I find the so uncomfortable!

Big Wonderful WyomingWalk into a shop that has all of them, and then go to the speakers and turn them to full volume. If it is still quiet in the headphones and the are comfortable, I'd say you have your brand.
I have Bose as well.

jdollarI have Beats and Sony. They were about equal in noise reduction but the Beats are more comfortable. Bottom line is it’s a crap shoot if you don’t try them on. I tried the Bose in their store but the fit wasn’t there.

rnoviI have the Bose QC35's as well as some Denon Isolator (foam plug) headphones. The QC35's have the benefit of screaming "Leave me alone!" when they are on. The noise cancelling ability is really amazing and the best I've found.
The problem with the QC's is that you can't really lean your head over and they don't work well with a lot of neck pillows (the QC's are just too large). So that's where my Denon's come into play.
Regardless, Bose owns that market for a reason. They really are that good.

Robert
