Camo and South Africa
I'll be hunting in South Africa this coming April and have some camo questions.

A gunstock I would like to use is camoed in Realtree Hardwoods and a back pack I would like to take on the plane as a carryon bag is in Mossy Oak camo or something like. There is no military camo. Would any seasoned Africa travelers forsee any problems with traveling with these items?

I took a Realtree HD camo backpack on my trip in June as my carry on - i went to Zambia, Zimbabwe and RSA. No problems whatsoever - I also wore my hunting jacket when we went around as the nights & mornings were in the High 20's low 30's F.

I don't think non-military patterns are a problem in most places, but it does sort of identify you as a foreign hunter. I can't recall seeing too many locals wearing camo anywhere in Africa.

The camoed gunstock and backpack are no problem. I have personally used both all over Africa.
