CharlesLbuying alcohol in Doha
My flight schedule has gone from an overnight connection at Hamad International Airport to a 3 hour layover. Is there a place to buy a decent single malt Scotch at the airport? I know there are restriction on alcohol in Qatar, but since the lounges serve I am hoping that I can purchase for transit.

jdollarThe duty free shop there has a HUGE scotch section with plenty of choices.
The serve booze on their flights as well.

Thanks. I didn't see it on their websites, but I was hoping that was the case.

On the flights and in the lounge, but I'm looking for something for later by the fire.
Charles, you’ll find Hamad International Airport to be one of the nicest and most modern airports you’ve ever transited. You’ll have no trouble buying any of the finer things.

You may be limited to the quantity of booze you can buy/take to your final destination unless you are willing to pay duty on any excess on arrival.

CharlesLThanks everyone.
I just want one decent bottle to share with PH around a campfire. He will have Scotch, but I prefer mine neat so I want something a little better.

jdollarYou can drink any Scotch neat but the older single malts are best. I always take a good smokey single malt with me to share with the PH.

True but I'm not a big drinker. My introduction to Scotch was Glenlivet 18 and then Johnnie Walker blue label. My favorite so far is Dalmore 18. So I want to bring something fairly smooth.
