larryshoresCheck your passports
I cleared customs today in Atlanta. After I had left the gun inspection, I happened to glance at my passport. They had given me the wrong one. I am glad I noticed it when I did.

shotgun46The very same thing happened to me on the return from my South Africa trip in May of 2010 In Atlanta . One of the Customs individuals definitely had an attitude treating every one like they were basic trainee recruits. In addition he discharged his duties in a caviler negligent way returning the wrong passports to the individuals involved . Fortunately one of the other hunters checked and the mistake was corrected, I had not checked ( note to self always check). I would have been a world of hurt If he had not.

JBrownI have never had this happen, but it makes me think that it might not be a bad idea to place some type of unique identifier on the cover of our passports(similar to what many if us do to our rifle cases).

larryshoresThat is sort of what got my attention. My passport is covered in god knows how many security stamps. I glanced down at the one handed to me. There was 1 security stamp.
I wonder what kind of hell I would have had if I had gone through security before I noticed it.

NavalukMy eyes never leave my passport when I hand it to someone who was out of their depth when working at McDonalds.
