HuviusFood wise, Denver has a bit of everything.
The usual steak places like Ruth’s Chris, Capitol Grill, etc.
Ocean Prime is good and right on the corner of Larimer and 15th which is a hoppin area.
Union Station has some nice restaurants too.
Tavernetta is excellent.
The Brown Palace is sort of on the south east side of downtown and these places are on the north west side. Sort of walking distance but I’m not a fan of Denver after 10:00PM
The 16th Street Mall is being revamped and the shuttle is free from Civic Center which the Brown Palace is close to and Union Station. The shuttle winds through downtown while the mall is being remodeled.
What are you coming to Denver for?

Big thanks for the hotel and eating tips! Appreciated!
Will be flying into Denver from Germany with my wife and then a week of antelope hunting.
Twelve months out but starting to look at flights, accommodations and possible eats now.
Recommendations appreciated!

DeerdogsOne to avoid... Urban Farmer (near Union Square). Overpriced and pretentious.

Matt NormanDo you have somebody meeting you at the Denver Airport? It's located quite far from Downtown. You can take the train towards downtown or otherwise whatever hotel you stay in has a shuttle.
As suggested above you want to be tucked in by 10PM. Denver can get dicey after dark as Denver is a 'Sanctuary City' and has it's problems.

HuviusBe sure to revisit this thread a couple months before your trip and I can fill you in on the latest developments in town.
In Denver, restaurants open and close with such regularity there’s little point in planning too far out.
I agree with Deerdogs about Urban Farmer.
You could hit a couple real Denver dining institutions like Buckhorn Exchange or Bastien’s.

georgeldHi Ya Charlie:
Where are you going to hunt antelope for a week?
Then what will you be doing?
Fly eight back to Germany?
Or travel around to see more of the state?
With more info and hearing how long you will be here.
Many of us can provide a great many places to see, and things to do.

450 FullerNot only Denver but all the way to Colorado Springs :
problems with drugs and homeless tents. Definitely
do not go out past 10:30.
Travel toward NM, WY or Grand Junction if staying awhile.
I shot my first large bull elk near Evergreen and Mt. Evans, using a 405/ 1895 Winchester in 1979. But that
was over 40 years ago-the front range is now unacceptable.

georgeldMan, I'm glad I got back on here this morning.
It didn't soak thru my hard head & blind eyes that you were planning on NEXT year!
Here I was getting excited about you being here in 2-3 weeks.
Lots of time now.
Charlie. Since you have the time to plan things. And such expense, why not plan to hang around a couple more weeks and go elk hunting down there just after antelope hunt. There's lots of good elk hunting within an hour or two of where you will be. This may be your only time in CO. Do it up right while you have time and already buying the plane rides.
You will want to rent a car so you can go and do, see things without all the hassles of being afoot. There is no transportation south of Pueblo. NO airports, and I'd bet you wouldn't want to ride a bus.
Are you planning on bringing your own rifle?
Ok, catch up another time. Best wishes.
George
