N E 450 No2DC to JNB, May 7th on SAA
I will be leaving on SAA through JNB, an overnight then to Maun, Botswana.
I have not flown to JNB since the baggage limits crackdown, and I have a question about the carryon regulations.
First, can you still carry your carryon and a second smaller "personal" item such as a Filson small shoulder bag?
And second do they weigh your carryon and hold it to the 18 pound limit?
Always in the past my carryon has weighed between 40 and 49 lbs, as I ut everything in it I can, such as extra scopes, binos, cameras, flashlights, batteries etc.
I am not carrying that much stuff this time, I have only carrying one checked bag, and can get my carryon bag that light if necessary, but would like to have a little bit more in it so I know I will arrive with at leasrt a certain amount of clothing.
Plus I like to have the shoulder bag for magazines snacks bottled water etc.
My carry-on bag was both weighed and measured for size at JNB in March. I had a c-pap machine over my shoulder and nothing was said about that.
