I am planning a hunt in Moz in 2026. I will be flying Emirates from London to Joburg, and I plan to break the journey with a few days stay in Dubai to do some business.

I'm guessing that the firearm is placed in the airside armoury and I don't need to worry about it. Anyone had experience of this?

Once you book your flights, and get approval, it does not matter how long your break your journey.

The airport police look after your firearms and deliver them to your onward flight.

Book ahead, get approval, and that is it.

Saeed is exactly right. I just did this with a 2 1/2 day layover and my guns and other luggage arrived fine at my ultimate destination.
