LabmanAmerican Airlines with guns to Budapest, Hungary
I'm considering an European hunt and was wondering if anyone had any experience flying on AA with guns. It's a direct flight from Philadelpia to Budapest. I've never flown AA with guns and remember folks posting about problems with them but I don't remember any of the details. I called and was told it was OK by the AA representative.

SFRanger7GPI fly AA with guns regularly. I have never had issues. Keep in mind they do not or cannot fly firearms into some areas.

SFRanger7GPIf they told you it is OK, go for it. The best advice I can give on flying with firearms is to have plenty of copies of all documents on hand, be patient, and never forget courtesy costs nothing.
safe travels

I’ve flown American with guns a number of times. I’ve never had a problem EXCEPT when it involved LHR and British Airways for a transfer. Learned not to do that again, the hard way. BAA sucks and so does Heathrow, I’ve had problems with BA there, twice.

LabmanAfter having a problem with BA on a transfer in Joberg I've sworn off that airline. I won't fly with them anywhere and won't go through England on any airline if I'm traveling with guns.

Hunt InterYou'll be fine flying to Budapest. Small airport and easy to get check guns out.
If you want a really good Hungarian hunt I have very good contacts for it.
