Air France & approval for rifles
Well, I'm traveling to Zimbabwe via Delta, Air France, and SAA next week.

I'm told by both Delta and Air France that I need approval to carry firearms and since I have read this on AR also I called Air France last week to secure the approval.

Now I am getting the run around from them. Last Friday they said "call Monday" and today it's "call Wednesday". My concern is what happens if I don't get the approval.

Has anyone ever heard of someone not geting approval? Any ideas as to what I can do to get some action?

Thanks.

I got it a couple days before departure. My guess is they know you do not need it to you fly and they never consider the traveler worrying about not getting the approval.

A friend just wen to Cameroon and I believe he got his approval just a day or two before departure.

I have never heard of anyone getting turned down or not getting the approval on time.

At least with Air France you do need to let them know ahead of time that you are flying with guns. They need info on your guns and size of gun case. Do not think about checking in until you have a confirmation that Air France has the info in your record.
