squeezenhopeTravel Cases
Harbor Freight is selling a Pelican knock off which appears very comparable, at about half the cost. I am a big Pelican fan but the HF case is well worth considering. My store has one gun case size and three other smaller cases that might be good for optics, etc.

Bwana338I remember when cabelas made a knock off gun cases similar to Pelican. They were good for vehicle travel, and I never considered them air travel worthy.
A person looks for quality. And likes to purchase an item one time not 3 or 4 times.

OngweFor air travel for an African hunt, the stakes are too high to risk with a HF anything.

SaeedWhatever it is that I need.
I look for the best product for my purpose, and buy it.
Price is immaterial as long as it meets MY criteria.
This policy has served me very well.

drongoWhen you are spending thousands of dollars on a hunt and transporting expensive firearms why risk all that to save a few dollars? Buy the Pelican.

georgeldIt also helps to have more money than
you know what to do with it.
Not everyone has such unlimited funds.

What is the price difference about $100 or so at most? A pelican 1700 is $218
I can see arguing about wealth when comparing a new double manufactured by Wesley Richards vs Heym 89B. For items that cost hardly anything (compared to total cost of equipment and hunt) wealth really does not come into the equation.

You asked me to take a look and I did.
The differences are in the product details.
The latches on the HF are not secure and will be broken on your first flight. I have had that happen before on a Cabelas airline gun case, that in it self is a deal buster.
The padding is less on the HF, something that I think is needed for air travel.
The material for HF is polypropylene vs Pelican it is High-impact polymer.
So for $30 dollars saved you probably will be happy with the HF gun case.
In order to make a product that is similar you need to uses materials that cost less.

DCS MemberIt definitely makes a difference, especially when you have nice rifles and spending a lot on a hunt.
