SIKA98KRecommendations for staying in Windhoek
We have 2 nights to kill in Windhoek 26th and 27th of April. Any recent recommendations on where to stay?
Joes Beerhouse is,I suppose, a rite of passage. Never had the opportunity on previous trips to go there. Anywhere else ?
Thanks for your advice and input.

Bud MeadowsI can highly recommend Casa Piccolo in Windhoek. It’s only 2 km from Joe’s Beer House, has free WiFi, free breakfasts and is very reasonably priced. In addition to Joe’s, you’’ve got to try the Stellenbosch restaurant. It too is about a mile from Casa Piccolo, and has great steaks and an extensive South African wine selection. I’ll be eating there this May and staying at Casa Piccolo for the third time in four years.

Bama15I'm headed there in Aug. and the outfitter is putting me up in the Arebbusch. Web is AREBBUSCH.com. I'm sure Stephen would use a very good place.

TexKDThe Windhoek Hilton is a quite good place too. It's central to about everything too.

vlwtx348We stayed at the Hilton in 2012 and it was nice. No cheap but damned if I'm gonna pinch pennies after 3 weeks of spending. Joe's was not far at all.

SIKA98KThank# for the recommendations guys. Casa Picolo looks nice. Sadly a non smoking hotel !
One of my buddies is an inveterate pipe smoker and I must say I enjoy a rare cigar, especially under the African moon.

Bud MeadowsWhile you can’t smoke inside your room at Casa Piccolo, they have a large garden/ courtyard with several chairs and ashtrays for smokers. I too enjoy a good Cuban cigar, and have had no problem enjoying a good smoke just outside my room at Casa Piccolo.
