lavacaI am a generous tipper when people give above and beyond service. But this is ridiculous.

SaeedLike you, I do tip when In think service has been very good.
But, I have refused not just a tip, but the “service charge” certain hotels add to the bill.
What managers hate to hear is “may be you should go work for McDonald for a few months to know what service is!”

Charlie64.
Very much an American thing. In Germany in a casual bar / restaurant 38.50 gets rounded up to 40 and in a full on restaurant you may tip 10 % but it will often also get rounded up ie 115 would be 120.
I usually let my wife sort the bill out as she always says I over tip and she is German and has the German rounding thing perfect!

MARK H. YOUNGFolks,
25% tip for someone that just passes you something over the counter. I don't think so. I'm apt to tip less or give no tip if a machine is prompting me to leave a tip.

LHeym500I don’t mind filing but this is outrageous.
I have moved to using bed and breakfasts.
