dla69Ballpark cost for Jo'berg/Maun
I'm considering hunts in both Namibia and Botswana. One of the cost items that I don't have a feel for is the extra costs (flights/ over night) associated with flying to Maun via Jo'berg and the cost of flying through Frankfurt to Windhoek.
Can some provide me with a ballpark figure for getting to Maun? I hate to bug Kathi until I know what I'm doing.
Thanks.

pinotguyYou can fly Air Namibia from Windhoek directly to Maun. They fly this route five times a week (currently). Depending on the time of year, a ticket runs from around $1720 - $2150. Not exactly bargain prices but I'd use this option and avoid Jo'burg at all costs.

Are the tickets normally bought seperately or as part of the transatlantic ticket?

tradewindsYou can or use one of the travel agents that uses this iste, Kathi or Gracy Travel, but if you are just looking for prices you can get close by looking at SAA site.

GeoffM24I just booked from Boston to Frankfurt to Windhoek to Maun through Gracy Travel. All in it was about $2,800. I think the break down was $800 to Frankfurt. 1,600 from Frankfurt to Windhoek and then 3-400 from Windhoek to Maun. I probably could have saved 4-500 going to Joberg but I wanted to avoid Joberg and the required overnight stay there. When you figure in not spending the cash on a room they are pretty close.
