chuckmaxmanLaminated 4457
Anybody have any issues having your 4457 form laminated?
Just had a new 4457 done this week. The customs agent said there are no restrictions against laminating. No problem with another one that was laminated coming through Atlanta last year.

NevadanAll mine are laminated and I have had no problems on either side of the pond. to me it just makes a bit more sense to have them laminated.

StonecreekMake a number of copies of the original before you laminate it. Keep the copies unlaminated in case you need to leave one with some misinformed official.
All of mine are laminated. I leave them in the gun case just in case it doesn't arrive with the rest of my luggage. I have a combination lock on my case, so I can call customs, give them the combination, allowing them to examine the guns and the 4457s and send it on its way back to me. I also keep a color copy of the 4457 (before I laminate) and keep that in my carry on, just in case. 8 trips over (plus Canada and S. America) and never a problem with them laminated.

Mauser K98Begno,
Mauser again. Mine was laminated. Customs people seemed to like it. They said over the years the paper gets hard to read. Some of the hunters in line said it was a great idea.
