Inexpensive Business class to Joburg (relatively speaking)
I received an email from Emirates advertising Business Class from DFW to Joburg, (purchase by 6/21 for travel 6/26/16 thru 5/4/17) for $4099.00. That is a pretty good deal for extraordinary service and comfort (Delta by comparison is $9077.00 for business class for same date flights). My wife and I flew Emirates biz class last year and are doing the same in late August of this year, it is nice. Other departure cities are available at similar rates, if you are going and haven't bought tickets...this isn't much more than Delta Comfort Economy.

My round trip from Midland,TX-DFW-ATL-JB-WH for August 11-21 w/Delta EC upgrade cost me $2300 total.

Delta business class is ridiculous, as you pointed out.

Karl,
I have a group flying to Jo'burg on Emirates August 4th out of Houston. We are on biz class as well and fares were $4,350 pp. Longer trip than Delta with the stopover in Dubai but the $$ we save make the time difference insignificant, especially since we have our spouses traveling with us!

The Divine Ms. M flying cattle class, methinks not if I want to enjoy the trip!

You are very welcome and I hope some others took advantage of the deal. Very, very nice way to travel to Africa. Business Class, regardless of the carrier, will spoil a person pretty darn fast, I've been fortunate enough to have experienced several different carriers BC, but Emirates is the best, hands down.
