Anyone flown on Air Namibia lately out of Frankfurt?
Has anyone flown on Air Namibia out of Franfurt lately??

I have a hunt up in the Caprivi during late summer and I have booked my flights. I'd rather avoid overnighting Joberg, but I have been hearing of issues with Air Namibia.

Just curious if anyone has made that trip lately.

Thanks!

I'm hunting in the Caprivi in July myself. I booked flights through Gracy's and I am going through Frankfurt even though there are some problems with Air Namibia. The problem that I had with going through Joburg was , I had to overnight in Joburg, then there was not a flight that got to Windhoek early enough to catch the flight to Mpacha in the Caprivi. Therefore I would have to overnight again there. Gracy said that by booking Air Namibia all the way through to Mpacha on one ticket that if there was a screw up the airlines would be responsible for getting me to Mpacha. If you book it on two tickets or on SAA and there was a schedule change you were on your own. Who are you hunting with and for what? I'll be with Jamy Traut for own use ele. Will be the first time to hunt Namibia.

What is an "owe use ele". First time I've heard that term used to describe and Elephant hunt. Is this a non exportable Elephant? I'm curious.

Labman- yes it is a non-exportable bull. They have to get a permit for these bulls, I understand sometimes the villagers use them for certain feist.

In German travelling forums one gets the impression that the problems of AN seems solved - for the time being. Basic message is that the government is supporting the airline financially. The current top management does not get very good critics though. So for 2013 one should be reasonably relaxed. If AN works (and I speak from my own experiences) it is much more relaxed than SAA and Joburg.

I flew Air Namibia from Frankfurt to Windhoek and back twice - once in 2006 and then in 2009 - not sure that qualifies as "lately," but for what it's worth I had a good experience both times. No problems or issues at all.
