Good question…pre-Covid I was trying to get a Mexico hunt finalized and was dealing with Travel With Guns, Patrick Wright. He seemed pretty up to speed on travel to Mexico.

Someone recommended the SENOLA VIP TRAVEL agent.

Try that one.

Never used a travel agent to go to Mexico but I strongly advise to get Mexican Travel Insurance. If you get hurt in Mexico, hospitals have to be paid up front before they treat you unless you have insurance.

We went turkey hunting in Mexico in April. Booked our own tickets. Had zero problems.

We did not bring guns.

Flew into Hermosillo.

I’m flying to Hermosillo, then on to Isla Tiburon in January with three buddies. We booked our own flights on American. Easy as anything. Outfitter took care of our gun permits, which your outfitter should also do.

Good luck in Mexico. I was born within a mile of the Rio and used to think nothing of it, but given the current situation, I will never go to Mexico again. I wish you well and hope you have a good hunt and safe trip.

Isla Tiburon is uninhabited out in the Sea of Cortez, west of Kino Bay, so no reason for cartels to have any interest. My only concern is from Hermosillo to Kino Bay. Well, and crossing over to the island in a panga, but that’s a different issue.
