SFRanger7GPYes. However, I would suggest the BA lounge if they can pay to get in there. It is much better. AA and BA are One World Alliance.
Safe travels..........Larry

jdollarNo comparison between the AA and BA lounges. Aa comes off as a poor relation. Check directly with BA about purchasing a day admission.

sandyhunterAt least back in 2013, BA wouldn't let you just buy a day pass to the lounge at Heathrow, even if you were a BA coach passenger. I think they required at least Silver status or a business class ticket to get in, but it was free of charge.

MARK H. YOUNGsandyhunter,
I believe that is still the policy.
Sean,
if your friend only has a couple of hours to kill there is plenty to keep her occupied in the airport. Heathrow is practically like being in a high end shopping center with lots of bars, restaurants and Internet hookups plus the people watching is outstanding.

LionHunterTwo weeks ago AA wouldn't let us into the lounge at DFW with First Class tickets! What a load of crap! AA needs to get their act together.

Mark,
Thanks, the only issue is that she speaks Afrikaans, English isn't bad but she doesn't read english very well- she is just a bit worried so was looking for a safe hangout for her. Delta lounges will make sure you get to your flight is you ask for a notice. Don't know about AA.
I am sure she will be OK--she just worries when traveling alone. coming from Pretoria she just doesn't do things like this because of the crime problems.

NyalaThe others are right regarding quality of BA lounges ( Terminal 5 and especially especially the first class lounge and Concorde club) being far, far better than the AA lounge (Terminal 3).
LHR can be crowded(understatement during peak times and especially during holiday travel periods, etc) and it can take plenty of time to change terminals and re-clear security even if she has Fast Track access.
So if it is only a few hours for a connection and she is changing terminals from 5 to 3 for the USA leg , highly recommend just biting the bullet and going to the AA lounge in T3. Safe travels to her !
(PS there are also arrivals lounges outside of security just as an FYI)
Best personal regards, mark

VIBA wont let you pay to enter. You have to travel business class. This way the case anyway when i've flown business within Europe and taken friends whom were in economy.
