I am headed to Uganda and will have a one-day layover in Dubai on both ends of the trip. I would appreciate recommendations on things to do/see.

Look over the Emirates website for thing to do in Dubai. Then get an Uber to take you there. The Burj Khalifa requires advance purchase timed tickets

nopride2Dubai is an architect's wet dream. I took a bus tour and photographed the sights. I bought tickets to the Burj Khalifa, walked up, no waiting. Photographed Dubai 360 degrees around from the top. National Geographic had a photo that was the same the following month.

FrostbitSaeed arranged this as a surprise for us during our layover in Dubai. It’s an amazing way to see the city, the Palms, and the desert beyond.
If you are a foodie and there on a Friday brunch at Al Qasr that is unbelievable.
