Is the current status still a no go for carrying guns ? I see that my travel agent has booked me on Com Air from Joeys to Windhoek ... (September)

As of yesterday Comair is still not transporting firearms (per Air 2000)...and they have yet to refund airfare paid prior to their decision not to transport firearms.
