Can I carry my primos trigger sticks as a carry on item on a plane?
I will be flying from tampa Florida to Albuquerque new mexico. My primos trigger sticks will not fit in any checked luggage I have. Would I be able to carry it on the plane or strap it to my hunting pack that I plan on taking as my carry on? It should be fine if they let camera tripods on planes right?

Try putting the sticks in your gun case.

I believe the model he is talking about are to long to fit inside his gun case.

Steel,
I took a set over in 2019 for a friend, they were to big for my gun case and to long for my carry on. Had to put them in my checked bag, in fact I had to find a new bag as the one I was planning on using was not long enough for the trigger sticks. They are a bit bulky.

You could probably buy one at Cabelas or Sportsmans Warehouse in Albuquerque and leave it with the guide/friend at the endo f your hunt.

I asked TSA about carrying on shooting sticks and their answer was no.

See if they will fit in to your checked bag or your rifle case.

An Idea for you. I have a new one in the closet and seeing as you are flying into Albuquerque you could use it if your other options do not muster.

Send me a PM if you would like to use my primos trigger sticks.

Use Enough Gun
I've carried my trigger sticks on many hunts internationally and domestically (Africa, Mexico, Alaska, the Western and Midwestern States, etc. etc.) I currently have the Gen 3 tall bipod set that adjusts from 24" to 61". I have had numerous gun sticks(both Trigger Sticks and others) over the years that have all traveled with me as well. HOWEVER, they have all been adjusted down to the minimum height and stored in my TUFF PAK safe and sound. Never had a problem whatsoever. Guess it all depends on the type of gun case that you're flying with. My two Tuff Paks have been my go to gun cases for all of my domestic and international hunting flights for nearly the last 20 years.

I've carried my PSR handgun rest for a Bog Pod tripod in my carry on numerous times without any problems. I carry my long Bog Pod in my check on Cabelas large duffel. I line 3 small pillows along the top of the Bog Pod which I place in the top of the duffel. Never had a problem with check ins or damage on multiple Africa & US trips.

And it also depends on the airlines counter clerk and/or the flight crew you encounter.

I had a Zeiss scope in a carry on and they didn't like that. Said I could use it as a weapon. Meanwhile people were boarding with knobkerries (African fighting sticks) aboard.

Buy a cheap snow ski bag and put it in that.

That’s a great idea , but it will eat up one piece of your baggage allowance.
