MikeENew African flights from Houston IAH
Ethiopian Airlines announced today they will begin flights from IAH to undisclosed locations in West Africa. I would have linked the Houston Business Journal article to it but it is a subscription based article.
From the article it sounds like multiple destinations are planned, this might give us some new routes to consider when planning our next safaris to the Dark Continent. They are also Star Alliance, for those that prefer to take advantage of that.

They are also Star Alliance
As far as I am concerned, a very good reason to avoid them!

FjoldEthiopian Airlines just cancelled all flights from Los Angeles to Addis Ababa. I booked this for an April hunt in Namibia last September.
It took some scrambling around but United booked us in Business class from LAX to Newark, NJ and then Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa to make our connection to Windhoek.
There are some great airlines in the Star Alliance ... and some real dogs.
