I'm traveling to Botswana later this summer and due to airline scheduling my entire day before the flight from Joburg to Dallas will be spent in Joburg (wither in the City Lodge hotel or the departure hall). Is there a testing facility inside the airport where I can secure a covid test? If so, must one make an advance appointment? Thanks for any help.

There is a testing site on the first floor of the Intercontinental hotel just yards from the airport terminal. I used it in May with no issues

I just did mine 4 days ago and it couldn't have been easier. My PH brought me back to Joberg in the morning ( I had an evening flight back to the US) just incase it was going to be a mess getting the test and results. Went to the airport and parked in self parking. Walked straight into the departing international flights and asked where we could find the facility? Everyone knew and pointed one floor above and to the side were two white tents and an area with chairs to sit and wait. 1 person was leaving as I approached. Nurse gave me a one sheet page to fill out and charged me $14 and did the test in less than a minute and before I could give the other attendant my email address she had the results printed for me in hard copy. 3 minutes later I had the email. Asked them if they were always not busy and she said it comes and goes - less busy times were lunch/midday before the heavy outbound rush of evening flights. She also said almost nobody calls ahead for an appointment and nobody has waited more than an hour in the line that she can remember. Whole thing took less than 15 minutes and was many times easier and better organized than anything I have seen in the states. I thanked them for helping me and they could not have been any nicer. Had the entire rest of the day to relax and do some shopping and the Safari store and hang out at the guesthouse before my flight.

The COVID testing requirement will be eliminated effective this Sunday
