Hello, AR! I have been enjoying this site for almost a year and finally joined, so this is my first post.
I am making my second trip to Africa in January and would like your opinions on which areas, parks or hunting lodges would be a good choice for photographing leopards. I have seen the other "Big 4".
Also, would like firsthand information on touring diamond/historic mines.
Am also going to Cairo/Nile and Capetown.
Have been taking notes on all the information discussed on Capetown.
Thank you AA.

If you find yourself in Kenya there is a Lodge called Ngulia lodge in Tsavo West National Park that has a feeding tree close to the dining area with lights on it. The leopard are often seen feeding and even just walking the tracks around there.
The Ngulia area is beautiful.

cjw who posts here would be a good person for you to contact. I know she has photographed a lot of great leopards at Mashatu which is in Botswana. That is one place that is pretty easy to get to from Johannesburg.

I do have a South African PH who takes clients there for photo tours if that is the type of trip you are looking for.

South Luangwa Park has also very good reputation for leopard viewing and there are also very good bush camps there. It is an option worth looking into.

Hi Anne

Welcome to the forum. If you're not too worried about whether your subjects are tame, semi tame or wild, there are some places in SA where you'll find some very accommodating subjects for your lens.

One photo safari lodge I know of for example has an ultra tame cheetah, reasonably relaxed Lions and a slightly loopy but photographable Leopard....... if you're interested in this type of venue please e-mail me at my private address at shakari3@mweb.co.za and I'll make a few suggestions.
