Victoria Falls?

mstewart44Victoria Falls?
I will be making my third, and quite possibly my last (for a while), trip to Limpopo this June. In all my previous trips I have never taken much time to sight see and am considering a trip to Victoria Falls and possibly Kruger. Can the good folks here share their experience of going to the falls? Was it worth it?

I've been there many times and would go again in a minute. Walk the path from the falls to the bridge, watch the bungee jumping, enjoy the low numbers of tourists, see the town, get some amazing deals on carvings, and the highlight is to go the the VF hotel and spend a few hours walking the halls and seeing the old photos, imagine yourself as part of the history back when Africa was the Africa we all dream about. If you don't go, you will kick yourself in the butt in the years to come.
However, this is just my opinion.
Cheers,
Cal

DLSVictoria Falls is fantastic and highly recommended! I think Martin has a great suggestion to combine it with some time in Hwange (Wankie

) Park. Kruger is fantastic, but if you're already in Vic Falls, then a trip to Hwange probably makes more sense and it too is a pretty special place.

Spent 3 day at the falls this Sept with my daughter and 3 friends. We rented a 3 bedroom cabin for 140 a night. Everyone had a great time. Highly recomend the white water rafting. We did some fishing, ate at the Boma, and of corse the bungi jump.
Enjoy

bwana cecilMy wife & I are visiting Vic Falls this July.
We are staying at the VF Hotel for a couple of days.
Have not spent much time yet researching, so would appreciate any help available on the does & don'ts.
Also, is there a service available to help with getting my rifle cleared?
Last time, when we cleared in Harare it sure was nice to have someone to tell the officials what they were suppose to do.

mstewart44Thank you to all who have replied so far. How many days do you suggest to cover all the sights?? My PH suggests only 1 day but I'm thinking at least 2. Any suggestions??
Thanks again!!

LionHunterYou must stay at the VF Hotel. Incredible history and views. They like to have hunters in house and will secure your firearms for you. Do the evening cocktail river boat ride. Keep your camera with you at all times as you will take lots of pics.

DPSMy wife and I spent about 3 hours at the falls in August. It was amazing and I'm glad we did it. But I personally wouldn't stay for 2 days.

Kathi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woCXu0u0NUQThe Victoria Falls Hotel is stepping back in time. Great old photos, mounted trophies, and great service.
We crossed over into Zambia and had lunch on Livingstone Island. This is really a wonderful way to see the falls, (see link).
Have a great trip, you will not regret going to the Falls.

You won't need help with this. It is very easy. One page to fill out, a quick check of serial numbers and you are on you way.
Be sure to have exact change for the visa. No change will be available. Even if the guy before you pays with all singles.

twobobbwanaRecommend Booze Cruise, Helicopter flight over falls, walk along path at Falls, Livingstone's statue, White water rafting (starting from Zambian side as it has more rapids), Dance show and dinner at VF Hotel.
My info is dated though .......... 1999

JudgeGThe Zambian side has more rapids?
I've done the raft thing three times and we paddled upstream a bit (under the bridge) and started just a few feet from the base of the falls two of those times. Great fun to look up and see the water pouring from above.
That said, the Zambian side operators offer an eaiser way up the cliffs and out of the canyon, if you wish... and a helicoptor ride out, too.
