I have quite a few Voyager miles from South African Airways fights. I am trying to book a Safari for August in Mozambique and would like to redeem those miles on a Star Alliance member airline like United for instance. Does anyone know if that can be done or a travel agent well-versed in such things?

When I use my United miles for other airlines I go to United's website and book the tickets by the route I want. There is a check box option telling United to search all the Star Alliance partners.

Any good travel agent will do it but they'll charge you a couple of hundred dollars.

I also go to their website. It's fairly simple.
