She shouldn't be flying halfway around the world with no room on a credit card, and thankfully, she wasn't.
Delta has bumped me several times in every way imaginable, even including having double sold our First Class seats, and the best I ever got from them was a credit for a future flight.
Like I was eager to fly with them again after that kind of treatment!
But they own some routes, and I have found that it is impossible for us to avoid them. I just cross my fingers and breathe a sigh of relief when we are actually allowed to sit in the actual seats that I actually purchased.
This poor woman went through some hardship, but she got fully compensated for what seems to have been an honest mistake.
Not bad in today's world of shoddy treatment by too many airlines.
