My neighbor has a son in college who has been offered the following trip to SA. Anyone have any ideas, concerns, or advice?

During college, my kids went to Central America, South America, Europe, Australia and Africa on school sponsored trips or study abroad trips with no issues. If this is a college sponsored trip tell him to have a blast.

If not, we probably need more information, like who is putting it together etc.

Yes, It is my understanding that the college is putting it on.

Advice - Stay with the tour group at all times. Do not go out by yourself or with small groups especially at night. Treat all areas of SA like you would Winchester Ave in Chicago.

Otherwise, a great tour of the country.

Then there should be no issues as long as your friends son obeys the sponsors rules. If the boy is the type to sneak out at night to get laid or get drugs he could be setting himself up for problems. Otherwise it should be a great trip.
