Bidvest Lounge Johannesburg Question

Can I utilize the lounge at Joberg by simply paying a day fee? In the past I was charged $35 for access to the lounge. I was just checking online and it now looks like you have to buy an annual priority pass membership if you want to use the lounge. Is this correct?

When I was there 8 months ago you could buy a day pass but it was limited to 4 hours IIRC.

Some high value credit cards offer free access to a lot of lounges, for free!

It seems that any time I want to use my Priority Pass or American Express Platinum card to get into a lounge, it doesn't work!

I have had to tell them more than once (in the words of the great Groucho Marx), "Okay. Fine. I've been thrown out of better places than this!"

Had the same at Frankfurt airport.

Charged the cost to my Mastercard.

Then informed my bank afterwards that it wasn’t accepted with a charge, they paid me back.

Priority Pass has a phone app that lets you look up every airport and terminal for lounges as well as displaying an electronic PP card for entry.
