I don't know about crystal meth, but this African hunting thing is one hell of an affliction. No cure, it seems, only treatments. I leave on my third one the 14th of October.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out. Enjoy the ride!

Good luck to you! I'm 15 days away from leaving. This will be my first Africa hunt as well. It's getting hard to sleep at night!

30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

Good luck and best wishes on your trip. My son and went on our first trip two years ago, and I hope that I will be able to return at least one more time. As I jokingly say around here, "best money I've ever borrowed".

Have a good trip! Where to and with whom?

151 days until my ?th safari and I'm anticipating it more than my first. Unlike what I hear about crack cocaine, you don't futilely try to regain your first high... on safari, they just get better and better.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Have a blast!! As the rest have said, Africa is addicting.. not just the hunting, but the places, the people, the smells, etc.. It is a wonderful place. I leave in 28 days for my 6th trip over, then my 7th a few months later this Oct. And I cannot foresee stopping.. There is still SO much to see, do, hunt and experience on the continent!!

Fantastic! After wanting to go my entire life and now planning for about three years I am ONLY about a year away from my first African safari. Take it all in and tell us about it when you get back. Shoot straight and good luck!

I'm about a month away from my next African hunt and it won't get here too soon for me!

It's an addictive pastime -- once experienced, you'll be back often.
