Pump shotguns in SA
I was planning on bringing a shot gun on my next safari to South Africa. Do they allow pump shotguns into the country?

If your parents didn't have any children chances are you won't either.

Pumps, yes.

Semi-autos, no.

From riflepermits.com, prohibited firearms which may NOT be imported into South Africa, includes:

Any fully automatic weapon,

Any semi-automatic weapon,

No semi-automatic shotguns,

Handgun(s) for self-defense,

Weapons which fall under military categories.

Take some # 4 buckshot for the big geese.

I doubt they'd check, but if I remember correctly, pumps are supposed to be plugged to allow no more than 2 + 1........ I'd recommend you check with your outfitter......
