What is the best Airline for Houston to Zimbabwe??
I've been on 6 African hunting trips, but never to Zimbabwe. We'll are going to do a hunt in BVC in August. My past trips have been to Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. I normally fly on Lufthansa via Frankfurt. I'm guessing this is not an option for Zimbabwe.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Actually, the way you are flying is a very viable option. I've done it several times. Gives you a chance to walk around and break up the flights. From Joberg, all you have to do is book a flight to Harare and you're there!

Mike Jines recommends Emirates and that's how I am going next July.

Direct flight from Houston to Dubai where you overnight, then Dubai to Lusaka Zambia for a one-hour stop, then the short flight on to Harare.

Prices on Emirates are very competitive with Delta or SAA. I'm not a fan of Jo'burg and I've never been to Dubai so this should be more interesting.

If you are going to Harare, you can fly Delta to Atlanta then non-stop to Joburg, then catch the late flight to Harare. It's a killer but it saves you from over nighting and having to mess with gun permits and all that hassle. Saves you some money too.

I have been via Dubai(Emerites)and Atlanta(Delta). Dubai is an amazing place and you should spend a day doing the tourist thing there. But, for my connections from LA I still prefer the ATL connection. I am not put off by the JNB experience and I have handled my own SAPS 10 times without a hitch and it is possible to connect to Harare without a layover if you want. However, If I lived in Houston, Emerites might get the nod.
