nhoroPelican Air Case
Anyone have any experience using the Pelican Air case line for guns? Might take only a pair of doubles next trip, and both would fit in my 1615 plus other luggage. Used it for fishing equipment last time and it traveled back and forth fine, but rifles are a little more important. It's definitely lighter than most, but I've only travelled with it once. Usually use the largest Boyt hard case, but travelling alone this time and a lighter, more compact case would be nice.

WoodhitsI've done two Africa trips with them and they were great.
On my last trip, I broke down my double and packed it in one of the larger rectangular cases (1626?) along with my clothes. I had to pack my ammo separately but it was incredibly convenient.

MARK H. YOUNGI have the Pelican 1516 and love it. I don't see any reason to not put your guns in it if properly padded. The case itself is pretty much indestructible.

dogcatI use a tuff pak and/or a pelican case. Pack them tight and you should be good. TSA is usually respectful of well packed guns. Can't say the same for the African airports. I have not had an issues on 15 trips other than some minor thefts and the persistant request for "tips".
