I know my TA will answer this but she is pretty busy right now so I ask does one have to have a visa when going thru Doha to Joburg when you will have a 4-8 hour layover. thanks Jim

I think all Gulf States have no visa requirements for Americans.

Visits are visa free

To the best of my knowledge there are no Visa requirements for any country while waiting for connecting flights provided one remains within the confines of the designated transit area of the airport building.

Doesn’t matter even if you leave the airport. I went into Doha last year. No visa required.
