WoodHunterYou sure you don't have a worm hole back to Holland & Holland around 1910?
Very fine example of the Engraver's art.

fla3006I don't usually like game scene engraving but that is extremely well done. So is the scroll. Congrats!

Thanks fla3006.I got the bill for the work and can say that the price was very reasonable-one that makes you feel good right after you see it.

The Lions "smirk" was the first thing I noticed, the second the "something about Mary" hair. I generally keep such impressions to myself but I figure Shootaway would appreciate all the feedback.

The lion has the look on his face, "I'm going on this guy's rifle.

"
HA! Just kidding, it looks great.

Von GruffSpectacular work.
Did you pick the lion pick for the floorplate or just say to engrave a lion because he may have used this one otherwise.

Rick RI'm not normally a fan of engraving and especially not of wildlife engraving. But I
like that lion. He has that imperial look that makes him king of the jungle.
Please keep us up to date as your rifle comes together.

shootawayI am glad people like the lion.I wanted engraving with african DG but was not decided as to what exactly.I thought about all kinds of crazy things and once mentioned the lion head to Ralph Martini. It stuck with Ralph such that he brought it up a few times in conversation.Wanting something very conservative, the idea stuck and without discussing the whole idea with the engraver,Rabeno emailed me 4 pics of lion heads that I never seen before and asked me which one I liked.I told him which and he replied that it was the one he liked too.The final engraving is something based on that picture but very different.

Shootaway, "Ralph" spells his name as "Ralf". I had a chance to handle your rifle at DSC, it is really nice and I am sure you will love the finished rifle.
Only thing I would have changed is caliber, a 404 Jeffery would have been much better

cal30 1906I dont intend to be rude by any means and may even treat my self to a reallyu nice rifle in the near future. But I am curious as to how long that took to engrave and what did it cost?
If you want and Id like to hear from you you can send me a pm regarding my questions.
BTW I like it very much.

The older I get the more I like the 404.It`s going to take a while before I recover from the few Lott rounds I fired yesterday.
