Aaron LittleIn-Process 6.5x55
Heres one I have on the bench now; along with stocking it in the style of many pre-war German sporting magazine rifles ive also barreled it in 6.5x55 swede in the same profile as the original barrel, utilizing the original sight bases and sling stud(not installed yet). Ive installed a different safety and will be making scope mounts prior to polishing and blacking.
As photographed I have just begun the oil finishing process, much left to do.
The rifle will come out at 6.35lbs with its 22" barrel, and all the accessories including the metal butt plate.
Its been a delight to try my hand at a German styled rifle in lou of the English I typically find myself doing...not that I can complain. Hope to do more!

K W JohnstonBeautiful stock work sir !!
I really like the vintage German styling , especially the unique stock panels. Your treatment of the thumb cut and how it flows over and around the stock panels then back up towards the ejector box is beautiful. It certainly has character.
I wish the client would leave that small ring action original & without scope mounts. It has the look of a nice clean open sight "stalking" rifle as is !
Once a scope is on the rifle it will cast a big ol' shadow over all those nice stock design details...
Thanks for posting pictures for everyone
