CMWillOT - 1909 Argentine Question
A little off topic, but am I correct that the numbers on the bolt of most original 1909 Argentine Mausers should match those on the receiver, at least a few of the last numbers maybe? The reason I ask is because at my local shop I noticed a 1909 that Bubba got a hold of. Not too bad as far as butchering so I thought I could use it for a future project but I didnt jump on it because from what I remember the bolt had totally different numbers than the action. What do you guys think, am I making an issue out of nothing or should I pass on it?

TC1For restoration it's a big deal. For a custom rifle it's meaningless. The serial# will come off with the handle.

If the price is right, snag it.

srtraxI have several matching Argies (DWM Berlin) and they are smooth and tight like most of them. I also have one that the bolt and reciever numbers dont match, altho they are in the same "P" series they are not the same. From the feel of it when it is cycled it puts a smile on this face everytime. I think it is just a better feel then the matching numbered ones and damn if they (matching) dont feel good too, so..."if it feels good do it"
